Students learn a variety of skills, including traditional drawing, illustration, sculpture, graphic design, 3D modeling, animation, video, sound design, story development, storyboarding, storytelling, and media integration.

The combination of the digital arts with technology, along with a broad foundation in general education, means that Cogswell's students are prepared to move quickly into the real world, as well as into professions that are changing almost daily. Many classes simulate real studio experiences by using project based learning, production pipelines and cross-discipline teams.

Engineering Programs

At Cogswell Polytechnic College, students take classes that teach them to keep up with the rapidly changing computer industry. In addition to learning the technical skills of your field, you will take classes that simulate real world experiences by using project based learning, production pipelines and cross-discipline teams.

Each degree program includes a core of technical courses within the major discipline, followed by courses in specialized disciplines. Additionally, innovation management courses introduce students to a technical business environment.

The flexible structure of these engineering degree programs allows students to transfer from community colleges and complete the requirements for the degree in a convenient time frame. Evening classes allow non-traditional students to pursue a college degree in engineering while working full-time.

Business Minor

Cogswell College, in partnership with Alliant International University, has created a minor in Business Management beginning with the Spring 2008 term. Cogswell is one of the only Digital Arts Colleges to offer a business minor.

Cogswell students will have an opportunity to acquire the necessary business skills to become successful entrepreneurs or prepare for management positions. In addition to providing a foundation in basic business principles, the program addresses digital arts industry issues.
