Cogswell College is seeking part-time instructors for a wide range of disciplines.

We regularly offer teaching opportunities to our pool of part-time teaching applicants.

This is an ideal opportunity for an industry professional to interact, shape, and teach students, help develop an excellent digital arts and animation program, and to work collaboratively on cross-discipline projects.


Part-time Faculty Positions:


Traditional Animators

Storyboard Artists

Traditional and/or Digital Illustrators

Figurative Sculptors

Should have a broad knowledge of art and design, and must exhibit excellent skills in realism, emphasizing gesture, form, and structure.


Technical Directors / Riggers.

Should be fluent in Maya, Mel Scripting, C Programming, and able to rig full body and facial animation. The ideal candidate has several years experience in the industry rigging characters and facial expressions, holds a related four year degree and possesses a strong reel/portfolio. Salary commensurate with experience.


Game Design and Development Instructors.

Cogswell is committed to cultivating an environment where engineering and artistic specialists work together in innovative and synergistic ways. This position is a unique opportunity for someone who can assimilate multiple perspectives as part of the creative process.

Applicants should have a broad knowledge of art and design, software engineering, game design theory, game aesthetics, interactive software design, software production processes and methodologies, and competence in a wide range of digital and electronic processes. Must have knowledge of 2D and 3D software applications, game asset creation and implementation for game engines


3D Modeling Instructors and 3D Animation Instructors

Candidates must have the ability to work with beginning through advanced students and teach various courses in 3D Modeling and Animation. Must have knowledge of the creation of 3D organic and industrial models using software such as Maya and/or Modo software, primarily for film and game.


Must have ability to join the fundamental principles of art with computer graphic theory and concepts. Students will create works which demonstrate both aesthetic and software proficiency. Topics include modeling with spline-NURB and polygonal techniques, texture mapping, lighting, shading, and rendering.

Individual must possess a strong commitment to teaching, to collaborative learning, and to maintaining industry relationships.
