The United States Fire Administration and the National Fire Academy presented Cogswell with their

Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education
2008 Lasting Achievement Award

The citation reads, “From 1979 to Present, Cogswell was recognized as having delivered – with quality, consistency and commitment – the national Open Learning/Degrees at a Distance Program to thousands of fire service personnel resulting in a nationwide cadre of educated fire officers and leaders.”

Cogswell is pleased to have played a role in preparing dedicated men and women to assume leadership roles in Fire Departments throughout California, Arizona and Nevada.
