Cogswell College of Silicon Valley Launches Program in Partnership With Prestigious Kauffman Foundation

Kauffman FastTrac

Cogswell College today announced its partnership with the prestigious Kauffman Foundation, creators of the Kauffman FastTrac(R) programs. The Kauffman Foundation, founded by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist Ewing Marion Kauffman, is the world's largest foundation focused on fostering entrepreneurship.

The FastTrac NewVenture(TM) programs are for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs or entrepreneurs looking to expand their businesses. Cogswell College is the only location in Silicon Valley to offer the Kauffman FastTrac program.

"We see Cogswell College as an ideal partner," said Alana Muller, president of Kauffman FastTrac. "Entrepreneurs in the Silicon Valley area would not have ready access to FastTrac NewVenture programs without Cogswell College coming forward as a provider. This fills a real need in the state, especially as job growth both in California and across the country depends on bringing new products and services to market."

The NewVenture FastTrac program allows aspiring entrepreneurs to determine the viability of their business concept, develop the concept, outline critical steps in the launch and formulate a detailed business plan. The course is approximately 30 hours in duration and will be taught over several weeks in an interactive, incubator environment that fosters networking and think-tank idea generation.

"We plan on helping the numerous entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley who are not getting the right assistance," said Steve Adelman, director of entrepreneurial programs at Cogswell College. "We're looking to build the skills of a diverse range of entrepreneurs in the Valley, not just the so-called 'typical' entrepreneurs who dream of only a high-tech, high-growth, venture-backed IPO."

Kauffman's Listening to Your Business(TM) and The Intentional Entrepreneur(TM) FastTrac workshops will be offered at Cosgwell later this year following the launch of the NewVenture program.
