Gareth Chang is currently Chairman and Managing Partner of GC3 & Associates International LLC (a private investment and consulting firm), the Founding Chairman of D5 Studio and Alpha Media (producing 3D animation, TV dramas and feature films for international markets) and Chairman of Netstar Group Holding Company (a private equity funded network systems integration and services company in Asia). Mr. Chang has over 30 years of experience in developing high-tech business in the U.S. and internationally. Previously he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of StarTV Group, Corporate Senior Vice President and member of the Office of the Chairman, Hughes (Aircraft) Electronics Corp, President of DirecTV International, Executive Chairman of DirecTV Japan, Executive Chairman of Hughes-JVC Technology, Corporate Vice President of McDonnell Douglas Corp. and Executive Chairman of Shanghai-McDonnell Aviation Joint Management Council. He currently serves on the Advisory Council of Nike Inc. and previously served on the boards of News Corporation, Apple Computer, Palm Inc, DirecTV, Mallinckrodt Group, Agile Software, SRS Labs. He is the recipient of many awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions in business, science and community affairs. More recently, he received an Honorable Mention at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and the 2008 Cannes Film Festival for producing the short film August 15. Mr. Chang holds a BA in Mathematics/Physics, an honorary Doctor of Science from California State University and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Chinese University of Communications in Beijing, a Visiting Professor at the Tsinghua University, Honorary Professor at the Chinese University of Astronautics and Aeronautics, and Visiting Professor at Portland State University.
