Catherine Xu is currently the Deputy Managing Director of Global Digital Creations (GDC) Holdings Limited, a leading digital entertainment content creation and distribution company in China. She is responsible for the business operation of the company ranging from sales and marketing to corporate development. Previously she served on the executive board of GDC. During her tenure, the company’s market cap increased twenty fold and the revenue of her responsible area grew thirty-five fold. Prior to GDC she held Regional Director positions at AOL and Netscape and co-founded a mobile collaboration company which was eventually acquired by Orange UK. She also helped start an on-line gaming company whose games are now popular on Facebook. Ms. Xu started her career as an aviation software engineer. Under her leadership, her team achieved a human aviation milestone using a GPS landing system. She is an avid MMORPG player and achieved the status of Jedi in Star War Galaxies. Ms Xu is on the board of several organizations in the area of facilitating educational, business and cultural exchanges between US and China. Ms. Xu holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, a master's degree in Biophysics from the University of Virginia and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Peking University.
