Welcome to the Office of Admissions!
We are so glad to meet you! Our staff is available to chat if you have any questions or would like to take a tour of the campus. They can also arrange for you to sit in on classes, or visit with a professor.
Admission decisions are based on a careful evaluation of the applicant’s academic record, completed application, portfolio (if applicable), and essay. Additionally, a personal interview is an integral part of this process. Admitted students may begin either full-time or part-time study during the Fall, Spring, or Summer semesters. Prospective applicants interested in learning more about Cogswell College are invited to visit the campus. Please contact your Admissions Advisor for an appointment.
Applicants for admission must submit the following to the Admissions Office:
- A completed application
- A typed essay from the applicant which described his/her reason for applying to Cogswell
- A completed recommendation form
- An official high school transcript; or an official report of scores earned on the General Education Development (GED) test
- A portfolio of artwork (DAA, DAT, GDA and DMM programs)

You will be notified when we have received your complete application. The application evaluation process takes approximately two weeks from the day that the completed application is received in the office. If additional information is necessary, one of our Admissions Counselors will contact you.
