Cogswell's 2008 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Marriott San Jose, 301 S. Market St., San Jose. (Corner of San Carlos and Market) Click here for an interactive Parking Map of downtown.

Seniors who have completed all the requirements for their degree between Summer 2007 and Spring 2008 are invited to participate. If you plan to participate in the ceremony, please complete the Commencement Participation Form on the right of this page and return it to Student Life by March 7, 2007. You must also complete the Grad Check before February 15.

If you have questions about your Graduation Check or on your remaining units, please contact the Registrar. For questions about the ceremony, please contact the Dean of Student Life.


Commencement Invitations

Each graduate will receive a packet of 10 complimentary invitations. Graduation invitations for your guests will be available in April. Stop by Student Life to pick them up. DDP graduates’ invitations will be mailed to them. If you would like to order personalized graduation stationary and invitations, please visit the Jostens web site at www.jostens.com.


Caps and Gowns

Caps and Gowns will be available in the Student Life Office in early April. You will receive an email to your Cogswell address when you may stop by and pick yours up.

DDP graduates may pick up their cap and gown in Student Life after the Friday rehearsal or at check in prior to the ceremony.


Photographs

Senior portraits are scheduled for Friday, April 25 between 12:00 and 4:00. If you cannot come to campus on the 25th, there will be a limited amount of appointments available the morning of Commencement. Please make an appointment for your sitting on either day with the Dean of Student Life (bbloom@cogswell.edu). In addition to senior portraits, the photographer will also take a group photo of all the graduates and a photo of you as you receive your diploma. Each graduating senior will receive one 8x10 of their choice (the group photo, the diploma shot, or their senior portrait) as a gift from Cogswell. All other portraits will be ordered at the graduate’s expense directly from the photographer.


Class Rings

Rehearsal

Commencement rehearsal will be held on Friday, April 25 at 4 p.m. This rehearsal is mandatory for all graduating seniors planning to attend the Commencement ceremony. DDP graduates should try to attend, but if you are from outside the immediate area and do not plan to be in Sunnyvale before May 10, you are excused from rehearsal. Please contact the Dean of Student Life (bbloom@cogswell.edu) for any last minute details.


Senior Dinner and Art Show

A Senior Dinner will be held on Friday, May 2 following the Senior Art Show in the Gallery. The dinner will begin at 6:30 pm in the Dragon's Den. Please RSVP by April 21 to the Dean of Student Life with the number attending.
