Diamond in the Rough Competition
Show us your creativity in a short video, with the theme “Diamond in the Rough.” Interpret the theme however you wish, just keep the project clean (no profanity, no nudity, no extreme violence). We want to be entertained, moved or made to laugh — give us something we’ll want to watch more than once! If you are one of the top three, you get a cool prize,
a link to your video on our site and an added sparkle to your Cogswell application.
Deadline for submissions: April 4!
How to submit your video:
Rules:
- Title must have naming convention starting with: “cogswelldrcomp_”
- NO profanity, NO nudity, NO extreme violence
- Submit by midnight, March 20th
- Format: 30 second to 2 minute video; OR 6MB or less jpeg of 2D art
- Send Chris an e-mail with the title of the project, the team members with contact info (e-mail, phone, address), and a 100-word or less summary of your project. (send to csutherland@cogswell.edu)
Content:
- Live action (suggestions: interview style, mock-umentary, testimonial)
- Animation
- Genres: Humor, drama, suspense, advertisement (it’s up to you!)
- NEW: drawings, 2D digital, and other traditional medium (paint, ink, colored pencil, etc.)! -----2 top entries will win prize stated below -----Submit entries by e-mail to csutherland@cogswell.edu
- All original (of course)

Winners:
- Announced 2 weeks after submission deadline
- Top 3 video/animation projects will receive following prizes:
- 1st – Amazon.com gift card ($60)
- 2nd – iTunes gift card ($30)
- 3rd – iTunes ($20)
- Top 2 traditional/2d art pieces will each receive an iTunes gift card ($20)
- Team winners will be awarded same amount as individuals (we recommend pairing up!)
- Your projects will be posted on our website!
